Fund Accountant – NWT

About The Role
NWT is currently seeking a Fund Accountant to take responsibility for fund accounting, financial reporting, and statutory compliance for assigned client entities. As a Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of financial statements, NAV calculations, investor reporting, and statutory filings, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare annual financial statements and periodic management accounts
- Calculate timely and accurate Net Asset Values (NAVs)
- Handle shareholder reporting and communications, including NAV communications, issuance of transaction contract notes, updating share registers, and maintaining accurate investors’ records
- Process subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, and invoices, including compliance checks and due diligence requirements
- Prepare and process monthly and ad-hoc payment instructions, both manually and via internet banking platforms
- Liaise with appointed auditors and assist in completing audits of financial statements
- Perform accounting functions for client entities, ensuring compliance with agreements, contracts, and other legal documents
- Prepare and submit statutory returns and required filings, including audited financial statements, financial summaries, and PAYE / VAT / NPS / TDS filings, as applicable
- Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, procedures, and processes applicable to Fund Accounting
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- ACCA / ACA part-qualified or qualified (or equivalent)
- 3–6 years’ experience in fund accounting, financial services, or a professional services environment
Skills & Competencies
- Technical Skills: A solid understanding of accounting standards and fund legislation, as well as advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Behavioural Skills: A critical thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. You should be resilient under pressure and adept at planning.
