AXYS delivers financial expertise through two complementary divisions: comprehensive capital markets solutions under the AXYS brand, and specialised fund and fiduciary services under the brand NWT by AXYS.

Operating since 1992, AXYS is present in Mauritius, Kenya, UAE, Switzerland and UK. Rooted in a client-first approach, we listen, understand and respond to the unique needs of individuals, businesses, and institutions, offering services that manage, protect, and grow value over the long term.

Incorporation of Portfolio Investment Management 5PIM°, the first asset management company launched in Mauritius.
1996
Launch of Actuarial and Capital Management Services (ACMS), which took over all of PIMS’s clients.

ACMS enters the stock market by acquiring the ‘Compagnie des Agents de Change’ (CAC), a Mauritian brokerage firm.

Acquisition of FWM Trustees Ltd, a Mauritius management company.

Directors

Michel Guy Rivalland brings over 20 years of executive leadership in financial services, investment strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. Formerly CEO of United Investments Ltd, he has led cross-border acquisitions and strategic growth initiatives, particularly within the hospitality sector. Michel also serves on multiple boards, contributing to the development of leading financial institutions in Mauritius.

Alexander Armstrong is a board-level finance executive with 21+ years in structured finance, Islamic investments, and global capital markets. Formerly with JPMorgan and QInvest, he has led total transaction volumes transactions exceeding $50 billion, including landmark Sukuk and M&A deals. A director across UK, UAE, and Cayman entities, Alex is known for governance leadership, financial innovation, and Shariah-compliant product development across Europe, the GCC, and African markets.

Omabhinavsingh Juddoo holds a Master of International Business and an MBA. He is a fellow of the ACCA (UK) & Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland. His fields of expertise are Project Management, Treasury and Transaction Advisory. He has been involved in the operations of the subsidiaries since 2013 and contributes to the expansion of the Group.

Charles Omanga is an MBA graduate from the University of Leicester and has over 25 years of experience in Corporate and Investment banking. He co-founded Horizon Africa Capital in 2010, a boutique M&A and Capital raising advisory firm based in Nairobi. Charles has led and closed complex acquisitions, capital raisings and mergers across various sectors in East Africa. Charles served on the Kenya Revenue Authority

Charles Omanga

Executive Director

Pareet Shah holds a BSc in MORSE from the University of Warwick and is a Fellow of ACCA. He has 15+ years of experience advising clients on complex corporate finance, project finance, and M&A transactions successfully raising over US$ 800 million in debt and completing M&A deals valued over US$ 170 million across East Africa. Prior to Horizon, he worked in Corporate and Investment Banking at CFC Stanbic Bank.

Pareet Shah

Executive Director

John Howland Jackson is a seasoned banker with over 40 years in Commercial and Investment Banking at major global financial institutions. He served as Chairman and CEO of Nikko Asset Management Europe, stepping down as CEO in 2022 and Chairman in 2024, while remaining a Non-Executive Director and Senior Advisor. A qualified lawyer with Oxford credentials, he held senior positions at Kleinwort Benson, JP Morgan, Nomura, NatWest, and ING Group.

John Howland-Jackson

Nick has lived in the Middle East since 2004 and has worked across various sectors, including founding, managing and selling his own services businesses. From 2017 to 2023, he was Regional Managing Director for Equiom Group in the Middle East heading the Group’s regulated and non-regulated entities in the GCC. He also served as Equiom’s Head of Business Operations, streamlining operations globally.

Caspar has over twenty years international finance experience across multiple disciplines including asset management, private credit and equity and corporate finance advisory. He has held executive management and board roles at a number of regulated financial institutions both in Europe and the Middle East.

Derek holds an MBA in General Management, and Strategy from the University of Bath, England. In 25 years leadership he has exceeded global, and Africa strategic, financial, operational, and investment outcomes in financial services, and other sectors within, and across Africa. Derek also serves on the Boards of several entities within the AXYS Group.

Derek Waruhiu

Sandy is a seasoned Fiduciary and Wealth Management professional with expertise in strategic wealth planning, Financial Center development, Private Office management, and Family Office advisory. He has held key roles at Merrill Lynch, DIFC Authority, and ADIB Trust Services, and contributed to a Yachting & Marine services company. Holding Legal, Banking, and Trustee qualifications, his global career spans London, Geneva, and Dubai, where he received a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Ian holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of London and has 27 years in the Mauritian Financial Sector. He joined AXYS in 2015 to develop the UHNWI segment and became Head of Client Coverage in 2022. He now leads AXYS Capital Markets comprising Investment Partners, AXYS Stockbroking, and AXYS Corporate Advisory.

Sanjay holds an MSc in Economics and an MBA in Finance. He joined AXYS in 2006 after leading a top Mauritian stockbroking firm. He managed Mauritian equities and the AXIOM funds since 2015. In 2021, he took charge of Investment Solutions and was appointed Managing Director – Securities & Execution Desk in 2023, overseeing investment strategies and execution.

Yasser Doobory is a Chartered Certified Accountant with over 20 years of international experience across the UK, Mauritius, and global financial markets. As Chief Financial Officer at AXYS Capital Markets, he oversees finance operations with a focus on strategic leadership and performance. Yasser has held senior roles in banking, asset management, and financial services, with deep expertise in IFRS reporting, regulatory compliance, and financial planning. He holds an MSc in Professional Accountancy from the University of London.

He comes with 35 years experience in the financial services industry, the major part of it from the banking sector where he held senior positions in local, regional and international institutions. He was appointed Head of Risk and Compliance of AXYS Capital Markets in 2024.

Cédric is a financial professional with over 15 years’ experience in asset management and advising institutional clients and HNWIs. As head of investment strategy at AXYS, he leads the portfolio management team and the range of mutual funds offered by AXYS, where he chairs the investment committee. His expertise includes pension fund management, research and analysis, and frontier market expansion, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean.

Bansri holds an MBA from IESE(Strathmore) Business School, a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Finance and is a professional member of ACCA. With a combined experience of over 10 years, she has expertise in the capital markets, strategy and business development. With extensive exposure to international markets, she is recognized for her contributions to financial innovation, regulatory reforms and market development.

Girish Peerthy is a Fund Manager at AXYS, managing in-house funds with a focus on both quantitative and fundamental research. He holds a B.Com (Honours) in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management and a B.Com in Economics and Statistics, both from the University of Cape Town. Girish has been with AXYS since 2018.

He joined AXYS Group in 2016 as an Investment Analyst and currently serves as Project Lead at AXYS Corporate Advisory Ltd, where he plays a key role in structuring deals, managing client relationships, and overseeing transaction processes from origination to execution.

Holding an MBA in International Business and a Graduate in Sales Management from ICM-UK, she has held key roles in Mauritius, Senegal, Kenya, S-Africa across the Financial Sector at Sewells Group SA, CIM Finance, and SBM Holding as a Wealth Manager. Her analytical and disciplined approach makes her a trusted adviser specializing across the Eastern African region.

He now serves as Senior Wealth Management Adviser – Private Wealth Regional Lead, providing tailored financial advice and wealth management solutions.

With 19 years of experience in the financial sector across local and international banks, she is known for her strong ties with luxury real estate partners, Family Offices and International Lawyers. She leverages her communication and negotiation skills to promote Mauritius as an International Financial Centre to UHNW clients from European markets.

Nathalie holds a Diploma in Tourism Management and a Certificate in Securities and Investment (CISI). With a financial services career dating back to 2007, she joined AXYS in 2016 to spearhead the development of Ultra High Net Worth Individual (UHNWI) clients. Since then, she’s held key positions like Operations Officer and Client Relations Manager. In July 2023, she was promoted to Wealth Management Adviser.

He currently leads the Global Business division, with a strong focus on strategy, sales, and business development.

Ganessen brings more than 25 years experience in administration of investment and trade in the Mauritius and Singapore IFCs. Passionate of development economics, Ganessen has geared his practice towards ensuring that private wealth is protected and invested purposefully, and institutional clients are given assurances that their funds are safely invested. Ganessen is the managing director of NWT (Mauritius) Ltd.

Jerry joined the Group in 2016 and is responsible for the Finance and Client accounting functions of the Global Business operations. Prior to that, he held a similar position for five years and also spent ten years in the Audit and Business Advisory services at two of the Big Four audit firms. Jerry is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Ritesh has more than 15 years experience in administration and fiduciary services for private clients, HNWI/U-HNWI, corporates and institutions. He is a Director and Head the Trust and Corporate administration team for global operations in Mauritius and is actively involved in the business development for new and existing clients. Ritesh holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Administration and is a member of STEP and MIoD.

Wensley, a fellow chartered certified accountant, possesses five years of managerial expertise in the Cayman Islands’ fund industry, specializing in managing complex fund structures and ensuring adherence to global regulatory standards. His previous roles as Auditor and Head of Operations provided him with extensive expertise in financial reporting and operational efficiency. Joining NWT in 2015, Wensley currently holds the position of Head of Fund Services.

Yuvash is currently a Manager at NWT (Mauritius) Ltd, overseeing a team managing 100+ entities.
