About The Role
Key Responsibilities
Trade capture & processing
Capture trades accurately in the operational system, prepare confirmations to counterparties (in English and French), and maintain complete and reliable trade records across all assigned mandates.
Cargo & logistics coordination
Monitor vessel movements and cargo status, liaise with shipping agents and terminals, and coordinate vessel nominations and laycan management escalating any delays immediately.
Documentation & compliance
Prepare and check Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, inspection reports, and customs documents. Conduct sanctions screenings and contribute to KYC/CDD documentation for trade counterparties.
Financial & cost processing
Record freight, storage, and demurrage costs, process invoices and payment instructions on schedule, and support LC documentation and debtor monitoring in coordination with the finance team.
Stakeholder coordination
Liaise with clients, counterparties, shipping agents, and banks as well as NWT’s internal compliance, accounting, legal, and fund services teams to ensure every transaction is processed seamlessly and compliantly.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Finance, International Trade, or a related field
- 0–2 years in trade operations, logistics, or financial services — graduates welcome
- Good understanding of trade documentation — BL, LC, COO, invoices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
- Awareness of compliance and sanctions screening
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good level of written and spoken French — required
